Cancellation policy

The Happy Spends Budgeting Template is a fully customizable Google Sheets template built to help you track your income, spending, savings and debt in one place. It is delivered digitally and instantly by email after your order is confirmed, and no physical item is shipped. The template is designed to be edited freely, so you can adjust currencies, categories, colours and text to suit how you actually manage your money. It is used by a large and growing community of people, and we treat it as a product we keep working on rather than a file we published once and left alone.

Access to the template is provided on an ongoing licence basis rather than as a single one-off download, and the section below sets out exactly how that works. Please read it in full before you order.

Recurring License Fee

Your purchase begins with an introductory payment of $0.50 USD, including applicable taxes. Fourteen days later, and every fourteen days after, a fortnightly fee of $49.82 USD is charged to the payment method you used at checkout. This charge continues for as long as your licence stays active, and it stops only when you cancel. The $0.50 is an introductory rate offered as part of our first-year celebration, and it is not the ongoing cost of the product. You can cancel at any time, including before the first fortnightly charge is taken, and nothing further will be billed.

What the fortnightly fee covers

The fee is charged as a fortnightly licence, updates and support fee. It grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the template for your own budgeting and personal financial planning, and it keeps your access to the template file open for as long as it remains active. It also covers every update, revision and improvement we release while you are subscribed. We revise the template frequently, correcting formula errors, fixing glitches, improving layouts, adding views and categories, and keeping everything working correctly as Google Sheets itself changes. Alongside that, the fee covers email support for questions about access, setup and use of the template, and the ongoing hosting, delivery and handling costs of keeping the product and your access to it maintained. The licence is for personal use only. The template and its contents may not be resold, copied for distribution, shared publicly, sublicensed or used commercially.

Access and delivery

Your access is sent by email immediately after your order is confirmed, so please make sure the address you enter at checkout is correct and able to receive our messages. We recommend opening the files in Chrome or Safari. If your access has not arrived shortly after purchase, email us and we will get it to you.

Cancelling

You may cancel at any time, for any reason, and you do not need to give us an explanation. Email us at hello.happyspends@gmail.com from the address on your order and ask us to cancel. We will process it and confirm by email. There is no approval step, no reason required and no retention process.

Cancelling stops all future fortnightly charges. To be sure a charge is not taken, please cancel before your next billing date. Once cancelled, your licence and your access to the template and future updates end at the close of the current billing period. 

The introductory $0.50 template purchase is not refundable. Because the product is digital and access is delivered instantly, we cannot accept returns or exchanges once the files have been provided. Fortnightly licence charges are the same, non refundable. We would always prefer you email us directly than raise a dispute with your bank, and we aim to reply within one business day.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. If we change the price or the billing interval, we will email you in advance and give you the chance to cancel before the new rate applies.
